ABOUT ULTHERAPY
If your skin is not as firm as it used to be, LCS Medical Spa can help to improve its laxity with ultherapy, a noninvasive, nonsurgical intervention for loose facial, chin, and neck skin. Approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), ultherapy’s ultrasound energy can change the elasticity of your skin. Treatments are normally 30 – 90 minute session. After your appointment as your skin begins to heal itself, your body goes into a natural collagen production mode to repair the skin. Medical director Dr. Melanie Carreon is proud to offer ultherapy to Seguin, near New Braunfels, San Marcos, San Antonio, Austin, Houston TX for men and women. This procedure can be used in combination with other skin rejuvenation treatments, such as a facial or an injectable to leave the skin looking softer and younger.
IDEAL CANDIDATES
Men and women can both benefit from ultherapy treatments. If you have noticed that your facial skin has become more lax with mild to moderate lines (around the eyes, brow, and mouth), or noticing a slight droop in the jowls, you may be a good candidate for this nonsurgical treatment. If you have severe sagging or deeper lines and wrinkles, a surgical facelift may be a more suitable option for you.
PROCEDURE TECHNIQUE
When you arrive, you will be asked to lie down in our minor procedures room where we will prepare your treatment area, which may include the application of a numbing agent. During the procedure, a handheld device that emits ultrasound energy will glide over your skin. Depending on the number of areas you are having treated, your sessions may last around 30 – 90 minutes. It is usual for your skin to appear slightly pink and swollen. You can use ice packs and take an over-the-counter pain medication to decrease the pain and inflammation. You may apply makeup after your appointment and resume your day as usual.
WHAT TO EXPECT
This cosmetic procedure will not show results immediately. It will take some time for your skin to heal and adjust after the treatment. With the boost in collagen, the skin will tighten in about 6 – 8 months. May sure to talk with Dr. Carreon during your initial consultation to determine how frequently you should return for treatments. Each patient case is different and some patients may require more treatments than others.
